Hampton Wedge

Just to the south of landmark Carrollton Bank building (where Hampton Avenue makes a curve to the west--and Sulphur Avenue begins) is a large wedge bordered by Hampton, Sulphur and Murdoch.   This garden area was planted in the summer of 2014 focusing mainly on a plant list recommended for a monarch butterfly garden.  The plants bloom at different times in the growing season and provide the best combination of features for monarch butterflies.  Important butterfly food and nectar sources are available for the spring and fall monarch migrations.

Funding was provided with a grant from Brightside as part of the Neighbors Naturescaping program.  Plants are part of their recommended plant selections.
